      Things to do in Cincinnati this Mother's Day

      Mother’s Day is a day specifically designed to celebrate our mothers. It’s a day to let them know how much we care and appreciate everything they do for us. Truthfully, everyday should be a day where we cherish our moms, grandmas, sisters, and important women in our lives. Every mother deserves acknowledgement for all of the hard work, love, and support she has put into being our mom. But, if you aren’t quite sure how to show your mom appreciate, start by planning a day dedicated exactly for her.

      Here are some thoughtful activities you can do for Mother's Day:

      Zoo babies- That’s right baby zoo animals! It can’t get much cuter than that. Bring your mama bear along to enjoy some fun at the zoo this weekend.

      Burning Man at the Cincinnati Art Museum – What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than by enjoying everything that the Cincinnati art has to offer at the Cincinnati Art Museum this weekend. 

      International Street lights & Fireworks Show – Enjoy a fun day at King’s Island and dazzling fireworks, spectacular lighting effects and music that will have you singing and dancing all night long.   

      Mother’s Day Butterflies of Ecuador at the Krohn Conservatory – Cincinnati's favorite spring event is returning to Krohn Conservatory! The Butterflies of Ecuador creates a captivating environment filled with thousands of live butterflies in free flight for visitors to enjoy. Not only do you get to see beautiful butterflies, but Moms get half price on May 12th from 10am-5pm.

      Dear Evan Hansen at the Aronoff Center – Surprise your mom with the 2017 Tony Award Winning, Best Musical, Dear Evan Hansen! Dear Evan Hansen is about a letter that was never meant to be seen, a lie that was never meant to be told, and a life he never dreamed he could have.

      The 50th Appalachian Festival at Coney Island – All weekend long, celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the region’s rich Appalachian heritage with this festival featuring more than 100 crafters, dozens of entertainers on three stages, cultural and educational programs, music and fun on May 11th-12th. Please note that Sunday’s hours are 10am-6pm. While you are there, enjoy the Mother’s Day Brunch at Moonlite Gardens or Moonlite Pavilion on May 12th.

      Mother’s Day at Carol Ann’s Carousel – This event is perfect for families with children and children at heart! Come to Smale Riverfront Park for carousel rides and craft time from 11am-5pm.

      Mother’s Day Brunch at The Taft Museum of Art – Enjoy the beautiful Taft museum with a delicious brunch that you and your mother will love. Make sure to make reservations in advance. Brunch will happen from 12:00-2:15pm.

      The Asian Food Festival – This two day food festival is happening throughout the weekend on May 11th-12th and takes place at the Banks. There will be live entertainment and delightful Asian cuisines from all types of cultures.

      Loveland Food Truck Rally – Join the Food Truck Rally for another great year of great food, great music, and a great time! They will once again be in the Shopper's Haven parking lot for our annual Food Truck Rally! 20+ food trucks, beverages, and live music. This event is free to attend, each booth and/or food truck charges separately for food and beverage. Celebrate Mother’s Day with lots of delicious food!

      Mother’s Day Brunch at the Newport Aquarium - Make this Mother’s Day one she’ll remember by celebrating at Newport Aquarium. Mom and your family can enjoy brunch together in the Riverside Room featuring spectacular views of the Ohio River and downtown Cincinnati. Mom will be welcomed with a rose before she has the opportunity to meet one of our adorable African penguins. 

      Maybe your mother enjoys the simple things in life. If that is the case, try planning a Mother’s Day Brunch in the city. There are some delicious brunch places all over Cincinnati! Just use Google Assistant to ask for recommendations and to find reservations!
